OK, I am in NO postition to be seeking volunteers yet, because I don't yet know what the instrumentation will be...
BUT...
One of the local theater groups is putting on a JCS production, and they need instrumentalists for the band. Mark Frazier is part of the group running it, and asked me if I would play trumpet, and also help fill out the other instrumentation once we know what it is. The rock band portion is already assigned (sorry Percussionists, Bass Players) but he may need some more horns. Trombones and Saxes, and maybe another trumpet are definitely possibilities.
I don't have a rehearsal schedule yet, but the opening night is the Thursday before Palm Sunday, and there are peformances the following two nights as well. I do not have any idea if there is and compensation for this or what it would be. I am merely throwing it out there to see if anyone is interested, since I know some of you really like the musical (COUGHkamCOUGH).

Ok, now that this is over I just wanted to comment on how well it went.
IT WENT WELL!!
It was said to be the best show Robeson Little Theatre has EVER done. I made many new friends in the course of this production, and met SEVERAL brothers from both HB and other chapters. These include:
David Zeitz: ZK (University of Louisville; Louiseville, Kentucky); Now operating a Century21 Real Estate office here in Lumberton.
Bobby Hill (no I'm not making that up); Didn't catch what chapter, but her lives in Parkton and his wife is a Substitute Teacher in Cumberland County. She subbed in my class, I invited her to the show, she brought him, etc.
Also, some of you older brothers may remember an older man who was at one of our civic center "functions" a few years ago. he made an appearance and we caught up with him.
Thats the ones I remember off the top of my head. Anyway, we had a lot of fun, and if I am ever asked to play for them again I will definitely do so, even if they don't pay me next time.

That sounds pretty cool! I just hope Mel Gibson wasn't directing.
How did Music Man go? I was in Wilmington part of last week and through the weekend and didn't get to see it.
