Ok, I'm a little late this week, cuz I've been busy all day.
SO....
I warned you guys this would not always be on-topic....
And I can't think of anything else........
How do you feel about the concept of life on other planets?

umm yeah! How naive are we to think we're the only living organisms in this vast universe. It's like thinking we're the only living organisms in our house, but we all know you got cockroaches and spiders living in the walls They're out there, we just aren't looking hard enough

Ok.. One problem with this is that we have not seen other planets up close and personal yet so we have nothing to really compare earth too. We do not know (yet) how rare or how common a life sustaining planet is. I'm not saying that an earth type world is the only type of planet that could sustain life. We have proof right here at the bottom's of our oceans and at our polar ice caps that life can exist in abnormal (abnormal to humans) conditions. Shit I would even go as far as to say that the arrangement of a galaxy could be some slow (to us) moving life form that we are just on the wrong size scale to notice. My personal belief is that the universe as we know it is teaming with life of all kinds. It just kinda sucks that everything else (other planets/stars) are so damn far away. I know there are ways we have not yet discovered of traveling to those places and I just hope I'm still around when those days come. warning.. this next section is not anti religous.. infact if anyone would like.. i could argue in the favor of religion but that would be against the form rules. I try to be objective in my words on subjects like this. Here goes. Don't flame me for my next OPINION.. but life is simply the organization of matter that can self replicate. Life as we know it is composed of a few simple atoms stringed together into complex molecules (or micromachines.. incredibly small micromachines hehe) On another planet.. where conditions are completely different, life could be composed of a different set of atoms. I have to get back to work so i'll just throw this example up and hope it makes sense... what i mean by different conditions is this: example. on earth. Water boils at 100 C. in space. Water boils at cold temperatures. The reason for this is the pressure is lower. Most molecular interactions are based on a few things Temperature, Pressure, and volume. How do we know that on a different planet, different atoms form backbones, (on earth the magical elements of this process are Carbon and Nitrogen). Chemistry acts different at different conditions. This whole things is theoretically possible because we know absolutly dick about how chemistry acts at NonStandard Temperatures and Pressures.. I guess we don't have enough latteral thinkers out there in the science field who choose to study this stuff. Well i could go on and on.. but i have to get back to this lab stuff... Keep it real peeps.. Kris from NASA signing off hehe
